Karen Perry is the originator of Event Journal, Inc. Her combined marketing expertise and innovative leadership skills led to the development of the proprietary Event Journal system—an interactive, paperless ad journal solution for the fundraising community. Ms. Perry is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University School of Communications. She has worked at several of New York City's top advertising agencies providing strategic planning and account management services to Fortune 100 accounts including Colgate Palmolive, American Home Products and General Mills. Ms. Perry's marketing experience also includes stints in publishing and broadcast television, where she spearheaded several successful multimedia initiatives In addition, Karen Perry holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. Her professional social work experience includes community organization, outreach and casework roles in agencies including the Fresh Air Fund, Nassau Suffolk Law Services Committee, the Nassau Country Services to Rape Victims Hotline and The Mental Health Association of Nassau County. Over the years, Ms. Perry has served on many boards and committees of a wide variety of charitable, community and business organizations.
Professionally, Karen Perry, M.S.W., is currently a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Long Island Chapter (AFP-LI) and serves, nationally, on the AFP New Markets Task Force. She is active in Women in Development (WID) and the National Catholic Development Conference, NCDC, among other local, regional and national business and non-profit organizations. Karen Perry's unique and varied background, creativity and entrepreneurial drive enabled her to create the revolutionary Event Journal system.
